Strive is a non-profit organization dedicated to character-driven leadership development. With a focus on high school and collegiate athletes and their coaches, Strive sharpens teams’ power and impact by teaching winning leadership and culture-building strategies that extend into life.

Strive offers a research-based, customizable curriculum that begins with self-knowledge, moves into culture creation, and ultimately instills the habit of rigorous leadership practice in its program participants. Through a robust scholarship program, Strive leads the way in developing character leaders in underserved communities. Strive is based in Wilmington, DE, and serves schools and communities across the U.S.


Job Description:

Development Coordinator (Part-time)

Strive is seeking a part-time Development Coordinator to join the Strive family. We are searching for a driven, ambitious, forward-thinking leader, who is passionate about the community. This candidate should exemplify strong problem-solving and project management skills, an out-of-the-box thought process, superior organizational skills, and a commitment to exercising our organization's core values.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Managing our Summer Scholarship Campaign: planning, statistics management, collaboration with marketing, board management, donor outreach, acknowledgement of donors, analysis of campaign
  • Planning and managing Visitors’ Day at Strive’s Sports Challenge program
  • Conducting prospect research on individual, foundation, and corporate donors
  • Acquiring new contacts through networking and outreach
  • Managing communication with existing and potential donors, specifically writing emails, supporting social media outreach and providing Board members with necessary collateral
  • Maintaining donor and grant databases and files, including scheduling deadlines, logging donations, generating and sending donor acknowledgements, logging donor appreciation efforts  
  • Performing statistics management for donor profiles
  • Acquiring in-kind donations
  • Supporting the organization in development-related administrative duties and other assigned tasks

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • Experience in program management and outreach
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to meet deadlines, remain flexible, and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • An enthusiastic leader with a zest for learning and a strong commitment to positively impacting others
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Platform (Docs, Sheets, Gmail), Eventbrite, Crowdrise
  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce and Adobe creative suite a plus
  • Desire to work collaboratively with a cohesive team

Work Calendar:

  • Part-time, 25 hours per week

  • Temporary, April thru July

  • Available to work on Sports Challenge Visitors’ Day, Sunday, June 30th at Haverford College
